Christmas was spent at my parents house just like old times. We spent the day lounging, visiting with my grandparents, playing a mean round of dominoes and ending the evening with a fabulous meal my mom made. To top it off my brother and dad checked everyone's blood pressure before they left. Long story, short version we have recently had a few incidents with high blood pressure and for some reason we decided to check everyone right then. It seems like it could become a family tradition...There was only one other bad incident and that was when my puppy and my brothers dogs got into a fight probably over all the roast they thought they were going to get. Anyways, my dog ended up biting me on accident :( which actually has turned into a pretty cool little bruise. Needless to say they had to be separated because we didn't want anything more happening with all the food around.Other than that it was a perfect little family Christmas. It's extremely rare and nice when everyone in my family can get together. I hope to have more of this time in the New Year.
One word sums up this past weekend: Sore. I had my first full day back at Ultimate Frisbee, that means I spent four hours Saturday running around. It was fun being back and even better, we won both games, which is good for my competitive nature. Along with actually playing some decent soccer Sunday, it turned into a pretty nice little weekend. I can't say the same energy carried over to Monday though. When things don't go right in my world I turn to music to mellow me out. Here are a few songs that are currently keeping me sane and happy:
Young The Giant - I Got
Adele - First Love
Augustana - Fire
Most of the blogs I read these days are similar in content: fashion, food and their lives. While I like these blogs because each adds its own flare they really are far from the life I am currently living. This is the first Friday where my weekend isn't jammed pack, so how do I spend this evening? I go to Walgreen's grab a pint of Cookies and Cream ice cream, a red-box movie and head home. Once home, I pop in the movie take a few scoops of ice cream and drink the rest of an already opened bottle of red wine. Yes, you read that correctly. Even better I drank it straight out of the bottle. Now this is not my normal weekend but man it feels great to veg out. However, this doesn't need to become a thing. I am trying to get in shape and this is not the way to do it. I will now be turning to Pinterest for inspirational ways to eat healthy and motivation for workouts.
My new bean necklace :)
Now for a little Pinterest motivation.
I am finally home for a month with no plans to travel and I couldn't be more excited. This means decorating for Christmas, spoiling my dog, and getting goodies to prepare for the new year. I already started by finding my planner for 2012 on Etsy. I am obsessed with office supplies and it makes me happy being organized and put together. My planner is cute and perfect to put in my purse and take with me when I am on the go. Another goodie came about when I went to Chicago. I wanted to get a mini replica of the Bean and was saddened when I was told they didn't have anything like that. That was just unacceptable. It lead me to get on Etsy and purchase a cute silver bean shaped necklace that I will be receiving in the next few days. Got to love Etsy it has been coming in hand lately. Now if only tomorrow wasn't jammed pack with activities I would be one happy girl. Instead Frisbee starts back up, I have to attend a bridal shower, and end the evening at my company Christmas party. I am sure it will be a fun day despite all the running around. But I will be looking forward to spending Sunday at home picking up the house and relaxing for once.
The new planner I bought arrived!

Chicago, you surprised me in both a good and bad way. I recently thought of where I would like to live in the near future and you were on my list. I was excited that work presented me with the opportunity to come and have a look around. For starters, I am not a huge fan of the cold weather. You shocked me by having nicer weather than what I left and came back to in Texas and I appreciate that. I didn't appreciate, however, that my cute furry hat got stolen or the fact someone peed in the elevator to the L train and some got on my luggage. However, despite these minor drawbacks there was a lot I did like dare I say love? I loved your giant bean. I have had and will probably continue to have beans in my life. There was my first cat Lima Bean then my first boxer Margaret Wigglebeans and now Bijoux Beans. So you can understand why visiting the Bean was kind of a special little moment for me. I also loved Sue the T-Rex she was probably the coolest dinosaur I have ever seen. All in all Chicago, you were a ton of fun. Can't wait to come back for round two! P.S - One of our coworkers had to leave early so we took her with us via virtual pictures.
Fall is my favorite season. I love the color, the clothes and the occasional glimpse of perfect fall days. This past weekend I got to celebrate my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, at my Aunt and Uncles house in Houston. Being around family is always fun, entertaining, and leaves you with a sore stomach from laughing so hard. I wish we had more holidays that called for us to all gather together.
I returned home Saturday evening and got to spend a relatively quiet Sunday with Bijoux while picking out new recipes to try. This bliss is short lived as I am leaving for Chicago Thursday. After this coming weekend I will be home in Fort Worth for at least a solid month :) How nice it will be to be still for a while.
Side Note: I am in love with Adele's music especially this song lately. She is adorable, hilarious and brilliant.

It's a weird experience returning to your old college town. Things have changed there are new restaurants, buildings, bars and a ton of young barley looking legal kids and yet it still feels the exact same as if you never left. I have to say flying back into Mississippi I was a bit nervous on how the whole weekend would go. It turned out better than what I had expected. I stayed with one of my best friends and for the first time in a long time I felt normal again. That is what I love though, those few people who get and accept me without judgement...Needless to say it was a pretty good time had by all.
The Avett Brothers
Love my friends.
Dawg Walk
Mississippi State. Go Bulldogs!
Can I get a little more cowbell?
It was a little sad leaving.
I have decided to create a life for myself. If you don't understand that statement, no worries. Most people don't get my thought process so let me explain. I have a life. It is filled with a job, ultimate frisbee, soccer, traveling, a social life and a puppy. However, I want more. With that being said I have created a list of of things I would like to do, habits that I need to break or start, and small goals to help me achieve success in my job. I want to take this list and start a routine that will lead to me having a better more well rounded life or something like that.
Early morning run. (I don't like running but I feel it helps me start the day with a clear head)
Be a cooking person. (I don't want to be a chef but I would like to make some delicious meals for friends and family)
Host dinner parties. (Entertaining people at my house and enjoying good company, sounds so grown up)
Let my nails grow out. (Attempt to find another outlet for my stress)
Polishing my skills. (Final Cut Pro, Motion and Shooting Video)
Enjoy everything Fort Worth has to offer. (Before I move to the Northwest)
Getting a hobby? Not sure what that is quite yet. Maybe I will find it this weekend.
Lately my life has revolved around a sport that I have never really been fond of, baseball. I know it is one of Americas Great Pastimes but in all honesty there is hardly any physical contact, too much standing and in general really slow. However, my normal feelings toward baseball have changed recently.
Reason number one, going to the actual game is surprisingly fun. The beer, hot dogs and chanting with fellow fans helps create a fun atmosphere that is highly entertaining.
Reason number two, I am always a supporter of my State. Yes, it sometimes can be hard when it involves the Cowboys and any college teams in Texas (seeing as I went out of state for college) but I take pride in Texas! I was born and raised here and inherited that Texas Pride, dammit.
Reason number three, the Texas Rangers are in the Word Series (again). Last years loss was tough but isn't it our turn now?
Tonight is the last night though. After this, baseball which has become a normalcy in my life, will be over. So yes, I will be tuned into watch Game 7. Even though I was mad and upset at them for last nights game how can I not watch what could be a monumental game for our Franchise.

Go Rangers!
I have been active my entire life mostly participating in sports. It wasn't until after college though that I realized that going to the gym involved more than just throwing on a crappy t-shirt, shorts and running shoes. There was a certain kind of gym etiquette I now needed to learn. I had to carefully pick out something cute that said I am here to workout and get fit while simultaneously saying I am a good looking individual check me out. I mean everyone I see at a gym looks polished while sweating. Thus my gym routine has turned into a similar routine I use to get ready for a night out. The worst part being I now were the spandex yoga pants I once made fun of girls for wearing. I am a sellout but at least I look good while doing it, right?
I am what you might call an avid traveler. My motto (that I inherited from my mother) is "Have Bags, Will Travel." I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to many places starting when I was in the 8th grade. I have traveled across most of the U.S. and have been to Europe five times. I am always planning my next trip/adventure. Thus my schedule for the next six months looks something like this:
October - Las Vegas, NV (work trip)
Novemeber - Starkville, MS (visiting my Alma Mater)
Novemeber - Houston, TX (Thanksgiving with the family)
December - Chicago, IL (work event/weekend to look around)
January - Las Vegas, NV (work trip)
February - Phuket,Thailand (visiting my best friend)
March - Savannah, GA (St.Patricks Day Parade/seeing my little brother)
The funny thing I noticed throughout these trips is I am not the same person when I travel. I find that I inherit many weird new quirks. Here are just a few things that I have acquired from traveling:

- I get annoyed with people who take forever getting through airport security. Hello - didn't you read all the signs?
- When traveling I find my head is always in a book.
- I can get you anywhere you need to go. Turns out I am a whiz with directions even if nothing is in English.
- My translation book is always with me. I
butcherattempt to speak the language and sometimes pull off sounding like a native. - I am freakishly organized. If you saw the everyday chaos that was my house you wouldn't think I could be so put together.
- I am addicted to my AAdvantage Miles. I currently have close to 100,000 miles which might be nothing to some people. I, however, think this is HUGE and am always trying to get more.
- I am quiet. Except for when you look like George Clooney and I have had a LOT to drink and then of course I will propose to you.
- I am picky about who I travel with if I get a choice.
- An airplane feels like a second home.
My love of traveling leaves me running in a million directions. At some point I need to schedule a trip to see one of my friends in Oxford, MS and another in Beaver Creek, CO. Plus I am thinking about moving to the Northwest in the somewhat near future meaning I will need to plan a trip to Portland, OR. Exhausting or exciting? Take your pick.
After a long summer in Texas with no rain, October can't be more of a welcoming month. I spent much of this past weekend loving the rainy weather, cleaning the house and cooking.
Its nice when my weekends are free and I am able to be home and spend time with my pup. Unlike this coming weekend which will be filled with indoor soccer, ultimate frisbee and packing for a week long trip to Las Vegas for work. At least I will be busy being productive and getting some physical fitness in. Bring it on weekend!
I love the way everything looks after it rains. So refreshing.
Perfect kind of day to go through all of my old magazines. Can you say hello to no more clutter?
Ending the day with a healthy and delicious meal as I attempt to be a cooking person.

I go to bed with this little bundle of love curled up next to me (with her current favorite toy).
And I wake up to this face staring at me in the morning, waiting for me to get up and go.
I love the weekend, especially with my pup Bijoux Beans.
